About the Journal
About Us
The Journal of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (JAAPI) serves as a dynamic academic platform for physicians, researchers, and scholars who are dedicated to advancing medical knowledge, sharing clinical experiences, and shaping the future of healthcare. As the official journal of AAPI, we are committed to empowering our members with a credible and inclusive outlet for publishing peer-reviewed, high-quality content that reflects the diverse voices of the global medical community.
JAAPI was created with the vision of fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence among physicians of Indian origin, while simultaneously contributing to the broader healthcare landscape in the United States and globally. We recognize the importance of culturally competent care, health equity, and inclusive research, and we strive to elevate these values through the work we publish.
Our Mission
Our mission is to support the professional growth of healthcare professionals through the dissemination of research that is meaningful, evidence-based, and applicable in real-world clinical settings. We are particularly committed to highlighting studies that address public health disparities, minority healthcare challenges, preventative medicine, and culturally tailored medical practices.
JAAPI also aims to nurture the next generation of researchers and thought leaders. Through our YPS/MSRF Awards and mentorship initiatives, we provide young physicians, students, and residents with the tools and exposure they need to thrive in academic and clinical medicine. We believe that knowledge sharing is a catalyst for better patient outcomes and professional fulfillment.
What We Publish
JAAPI welcomes submissions in the form of original research articles, systematic reviews, clinical case studies, perspective essays, healthcare policy briefs, and letters to the editor. All submissions undergo a rigorous peer-review process by our editorial board composed of experienced clinicians and academic leaders. Our publication reflects a balance of clinical insight, scientific rigor, and cultural relevance.
We are proud to feature content that spans various specialties — from internal medicine and pediatrics to oncology, psychiatry, cardiology, and beyond. Our journal also dedicates space to emerging issues such as telemedicine, global pandemics, mental health in minority communities, and the role of artificial intelligence in diagnostics and care.
Our Impact
As part of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), JAAPI reflects the shared commitment of over 80,000 physicians, residents, and medical students across the United States. Our reach is not only national but global, and we aim to be a journal that represents the intellect, compassion, and leadership of the Indian-American medical community.
Through every article we publish and every voice we amplify, JAAPI strives to build a bridge between cultures, disciplines, and generations. We believe in the power of education, mentorship, and community engagement, and we use our platform to uplift those values every day.
